Many sources of conflict in our everyday lives stem from one source; that at times we all see things differently to others. This can result in how we see ourselves being challenged leading us to react to different viewpoints by judging others, feeling a need to be right and blaming others.

When we react we might think and speak in unhelpful ways and do things that impact others in ways we did not intend.

Sometimes our reactions can be interpreted as challenging behaviour and at other times we can be guilty of sweeping things under the carpet. Remaining silent rarely helps in the long run.

When we do engage in a difficult conversation, we tend to treat it like any other conversation, which it is not, failing to see the full picture and not getting to the real problem.
